The Honorable Roger Keats

Roger Keats

Like many of today's Texans, former Illinois State Senator Roger Keats and wife Tina fled to the freedoms found here. The Land of Lincoln had been Roger's lifelong home, and he had invested most of his adult life to his business and community there. But in 2011, the Keats concluded they were sick of the corruption and high taxes in Chicago, so they retired to the Lone Star State.

Introduced to TPPF after his move to Texas by then-governor Rick Perry, Roger explains, "Texas is not an accident. It takes effort to stay this way—believe me, I know. If we don’t do something for the future, Texas will drift away like all the great industrial states. In early 2016, the Keats became members of the Lone Star Legacy Society, providing for TPPF in their estate plans. Roger observes, “My participation in the Lone Star Legacy Society is not about my future. It is about my grandson’s future."
